Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 18 January 2026

Welcome to Beraline. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account Information: When you create an account using Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google. We use this information solely to create and manage your account.
  • User-Generated Content: We store the data you create within the app, which includes your custom trackers (e.g., "Mood," "Water Intake") and your daily entries for those trackers (values and notes). This information is directly tied to your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Beraline service. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Authenticate you and provide access to your account.
  • Store, display, and manage your trackers and entries.
  • Visualise your data in features like the "Year in Pixels" grid and trends charts.
  • Personalise your experience within the app.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information or user-generated content with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Security

We are built on Google's Firebase platform, which provides robust security measures to protect your data. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our application's security rules ensure that only you, the authenticated user, can access, read, or write your own data. No other user can see your information.

4. Your Rights and Data Management (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDR), you have rights over your personal data. We have built tools to help you exercise these rights:

  • Right to Access: You can view all of your data at any time within the app. You can also export a complete copy of your data in JSON format from the "Settings" page.
  • Right to Rectification: You can edit your entries and trackers directly within the app at any time.
  • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the "Settings" page. This action is irreversible.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, all of your personal information and user-generated content will be permanently deleted from our databases.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
